Description

A counter stool carved from solid mango wood, 96cm high with the seat 70cm from the floor. One curved rail runs round the back and forward on both sides into short arms, carried on two turned uprights at the back and two at the front. The seat is a squared pad upholstered in natural linen, set into the wooden frame, and the legs taper and splay slightly, with stretchers running round all four sides near the bottom.

At 70cm the seat suits a kitchen counter or an island rather than a dining table, and the stretchers sit low enough to take the feet of someone sitting up to a worktop. The arms stop short of the seat front, so the stool pushes back under a counter with the rail clear of the overhang. It is 54cm wide and 52cm deep, which is the floor it takes when it is pulled out.

The wood is mango, a by-product of the fruit industry, carved by hand so the grain and the figure run differently on every stool. The seat is natural linen, stitched by hand over the pad. The same design is made as a dining chair, and as a counter stool in acacia with a washed walnut finish.

Frequently Asked

How high is the seat?

70cm from the floor, which suits a kitchen counter or an island.

How big is the stool?

96cm high, 54cm wide and 52cm deep.

Is there a footrest?

Yes. Stretchers run round all four sides near the bottom of the legs.

What is the seat covered in?

Natural linen, stitched by hand over a padded seat.

What else is in the range?

The same design as a dining chair, and a counter stool in acacia with a washed walnut finish.

How should it be looked after?

Wipe the wood regularly with a soft, dry cloth to take off dust and moisture, always in the direction of the grain. Mild soap and water can be used, but sparingly, as excess water will damage the finish. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Mop up spills straight away with a dry paper cloth, wipe with a damp lint-free cloth and dry immediately.
