Description

The Anbu is a double bed frame built from solid acacia and finished in a deep walnut tone. The frame is cut square, with a flat headboard panel of horizontal boards above straight side rails, and it stands on four round tapered legs. Each part is carved, smoothed and refined with traditional tools before the bed is put together. It stands 110cm at its tallest point.

At 145.5cm across and 200.5cm from head to foot, the frame takes the floor of a double bed and a little more, so the room needs that footprint with space to pass at the sides. The frame is rated to carry 400kg. The same bed is made as a king, 160.5cm across and 210.5cm long, for a room that will take the extra 15cm of width.

The wood is acacia throughout, solid rather than veneered, and the walnut finish is worked into it so the grain and the depth of the timber still read through. Because every frame is worked by hand, no two come out quite the same. Anbu also runs to a chest of drawers and a bedside table in the same acacia and the same finish.

Frequently Asked

What size bed is it?

The double. The frame is 145.5cm across and 200.5cm from head to foot.

Is it made in another size?

Yes. There is a king, 160.5cm across and 210.5cm long.

How much weight will the frame take?

400kg.

Does it need assembling?

Yes. The frame is supplied for assembly.

How should it be looked after?

Wipe the surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth. Mild soap and water can be used, but do not use excess water, and always wipe in the direction of the grain. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which can fade the finish, and away from extremes of heat and humidity, which can cause cracking and splitting.
