Description
The upholstered Anbu is a dining chair in solid acacia with a seat pad in natural linen. One curved rail forms the back and runs on round into a pair of arms, and the frame below it is plain: four round legs, tapered towards the floor, with the seat frame squared between them. The linen is an undyed oatmeal with the weave visible in it, set into the wooden seat frame rather than sitting proud of it. The acacia is finished in a deep washed walnut.
The seat is 45cm from the floor, 50.5cm across and 44cm deep, and the chair stands 76cm to the top of the back on a footprint of 57 by 56cm. That is standard dining height, so it pulls under a table. It works at a desk as well as round a table, which is the other job the shape does, and one on its own will sit in the corner of a room. It weighs 8kg.
The frame is solid acacia in a washed walnut finish and the seat is upholstered in natural linen. The wood colour will shift a little over time, as natural timber does. The same chair is made with a solid wooden seat in place of the pad. Beyond the chairs, Anbu covers dining tables in acacia and in mango, counter chairs, beds, a bedside table, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.

Frequently Asked
How high is the seat?
45cm from the floor, which is standard dining height, and the pad measures 50.5cm by 44cm.
What is the seat upholstered in?
Natural linen, undyed, with the weave visible in it.
Does it have arms?
Yes. The curved back rail runs on at each end into a pair of arms.
What is the frame made from?
Solid acacia wood, finished in a washed walnut.
Is there a version without the pad?
Yes. The same chair is made with a solid wooden seat.
How do I look after the wood?
Wash it in warm soapy water and rinse and dry it at once. An edible oil such as olive or walnut oil, rubbed in with a dry cloth, will feed and protect it. Expect the colour to change a little over time.
