Amada 6 Light Flush Ceiling Light Opal Glass - Polished Chrome Crystal

The Amada is a 450mm flush ceiling light combining a domed opal glass shade with a polished chrome rim and a ring of faceted crystals set beneath the glass edge. Six G9 bulbs sit inside the shade (included with the fitting), casting light both upwards through the opal glass and downwards through the crystal ring, creating layered diffusion and subtle sparkle.

Designed for rooms with standard ceiling heights where a pendant would hang too low, the 175mm projection keeps the fitting close to the ceiling while the 450mm diameter provides coverage for living rooms, bedrooms and hallway spaces between 12-18m². The flush mount fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose and the weight of 2.6kg sits within the safe load range for plasterboard ceilings with appropriate fixings.

The opal glass is fully opaque when unlit, presenting as a clean white dome, and becomes translucent when the bulbs are switched on, softening the light output and eliminating direct glare. The polished chrome rim reflects ambient room light during the day, adding brightness even when the fitting is off. The crystal accents beneath the glass are individually faceted and catch light from the bulbs, adding movement and detail without overwhelming the clean-lined silhouette.

The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 LED bulbs, allowing adjustment from full 240W output down to low background light for evening use. Are the G9 bulbs included?

Yes. The fitting ships with six G9 bulbs installed. These are standard halogen capsule bulbs. You can replace them with dimmable G9 LED equivalents for lower energy consumption and longer bulb life.

Is the Amada dimmable?

The fitting itself is compatible with dimmer switches, but dimming performance depends on the bulbs fitted. The included halogen G9 bulbs are dimmable. If you replace them with LED G9 bulbs, choose models explicitly marked as dimmable and pair with a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer for best results.

What room size does the 450mm diameter suit?

A 450mm flush light typically provides adequate coverage for rooms between 12-18m² — roughly a 3.5m x 4m bedroom or a 4m x 4m living room. Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from multiple fittings or supplementary floor/table lamps.

How is the opal glass cleaned?

Switch off the light and allow bulbs to cool. The glass shade is fixed to the chrome rim and cannot be removed for cleaning in most flush fittings of this style. Wipe the outer surface with a dry microfibre cloth. For marks on the inside surface visible through the glass, contact Diyas or a qualified electrician for guidance on safe disassembly.
