The Amada is a 450mm flush ceiling light with an opal glass diffuser set within a French gold metal frame, fitted with six G9 bulbs (included) positioned around a decorative ring of cut crystal droplets. The opal glass sits in a shallow dish profile, projecting 175mm from the ceiling once fitted, making it suitable for rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights or lower where a pendant would hang too far into the room.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining rooms in period properties, the Amada provides ambient light spread across the ceiling plane. The opal glass diffuses the six bulb points into a single soft wash, preventing glare while the cut crystal droplets around the lower rim add decorative detail without substantially increasing the fitting's depth. The French gold finish is a warmer, slightly aged tone compared to polished brass, pairing well with traditional and classical interiors that use warm neutrals, cream walls and natural wood.

The fitting arrives with six G9 halogen capsule bulbs pre-installed, rated at 40W each for a total 240W output. These bulbs are dimmable when paired with a compatible G9 dimmer switch, allowing the light level to be adjusted for evening use. Replacing the halogens with G9 LED equivalents reduces power consumption to around 3-4W per bulb while maintaining similar brightness, though dimmable LEDs must be specified to retain dimming capability.

Does it come with bulbs?

Yes. The Amada includes six G9 40W halogen capsule bulbs. These are dimmable when used with a compatible dimmer switch. You can replace them with G9 LED bulbs to reduce energy consumption, but ensure the LEDs are marked as dimmable if you use a dimmer.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The fitting projects 175mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower. In taller rooms it works equally well, but the low profile is specifically designed to avoid protruding too far into the room where headroom is limited.

How is the opal glass cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply, allow the bulbs to cool, then remove the glass diffuser (refer to the fitting instructions for the release mechanism). Clean the glass with warm water and a soft cloth, dry thoroughly, and refit. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.
