Description
The Alviora is a compact 120mm wall light built around a sphere of natural Spanish alabaster mounted on a circular brass backplate. A single G9 lamp sits inside the alabaster ball, lighting the stone from within and turning the sphere itself into the diffuser. The contrast between the warm-toned brass disc and the pale, veined stone defines the look of the fitting.
Suited to hallways, stairwells, bedside positions and bathroom zones outside the splash area, the Alviora works as a low-level ambient or accent fitting rather than primary task light. The 120mm diameter keeps the projection from the wall modest, so the light sits comfortably in narrow corridors and tight reading nooks where a larger sconce would feel intrusive. It pairs well in multiples along a stair run or either side of a headboard.
Each alabaster sphere is cut from natural stone, so the mineral veining, cloudiness and translucency vary between individual pieces. Some Alviora globes show pronounced grey banding through the upper hemisphere, others present softer, more uniform tonal shifts. The brass backplate sits flush to the wall and frames the sphere with a defined circular outline, giving the fitting a graphic, sculptural quality when unlit and a warm glow when switched on.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Alviora take?
The fitting takes a single G9 capsule lamp, sold separately. A warm-white 2700K-3000K LED G9 between 2.5W and 4W is recommended to bring out the warmth in the alabaster without over-driving the small sphere with heat.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Alviora is not supplied with an IP rating in the specification, so it should be treated as an indoor fitting for use outside the bathroom splash zones. For zone 1 or 2 bathroom positions, choose a fitting with a published IP44 or higher rating.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each sphere is hand-cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining patterns, mineral inclusions and translucency differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and means no two Alviora wall lights look identical when lit.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe the sphere gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but do not soak the stone.
