Description

The Knightsbridge 2m recessed aluminium LED profile is a flat mounting channel designed to house LED strip lighting up to 12mm wide. The profile sits flush with the mounting surface, projecting only 1mm above the finished surface once installed, with a 6mm recessed depth below. The matt silver aluminium channel measures 25mm wide and includes an opal diffuser cover, four mounting clips, and two end caps.

Designed for cabinet interiors, under-shelf lighting, and wardrobe installations where the profile needs to be recessed into the surface rather than surface-mounted, the system requires a routing cut-out 18mm deep. The opal diffuser softens LED hotspots and spreads the light evenly along the 2m length, hiding the individual LED diodes from view. The profile is rated IP20 for dry interior use only.

The aluminium construction acts as a heat sink for the LED strip, helping to dissipate heat and extend LED lifespan compared to strip mounted directly to timber or MDF. The four included mounting clips secure the profile into the routed channel at 500mm intervals along the 2m length. Additional mounting clips and replacement end caps are available separately under SKU 1MRECCAP.

What width LED strip does this profile accept?

The profile is compatible with LED strip up to 12mm wide. Narrower strips work fine but will sit looser in the channel. Strips wider than 12mm will not fit.

What is the routing depth required?

The cut-out depth is 18mm to accommodate the 6mm recessed depth of the profile plus the thickness of the LED strip and mounting clips. Use a router or CNC to create a channel 18mm deep and 25mm wide along the length of the installation surface.

Does the LED strip come with the profile?

No. The profile is sold separately from LED strip. You will need to purchase compatible 12V or 24V LED strip separately and cut it to length before inserting into the channel.

Can the profile be cut to shorter lengths?

Yes. The aluminium profile can be cut with a hacksaw or mitre saw to any length shorter than 2m. The diffuser cover can be cut with a fine-tooth saw or Stanley knife. Additional end caps are available separately if you need to cap both ends of a cut section.
