Description

The Allen is a single-light wall light in brass and glass, shaped like a torch. A slim, tapering stem with a band of leaf detail is held out from the wall on a scrolled, cross-shaped bracket. On top sits a frosted glass tulip shade with a frilled rim and an etched pattern. The frosted glass softens the bulb into an even glow, and the etched lines give it detail when it is lit. It is 37cm tall and 14.5cm wide, and it stands 23cm out from the wall. It comes in four finishes: Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass or Satin Brass.

We see it in living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms. A pair either side of a fireplace, a mirror or a bed gives a traditional room a balanced, period look. Because it projects 23cm, it is happiest on a wall with a little space around it. You can match the finish to the room: Antique Brass and Satin Brass sit quietly with old wood and warm colours, Polished Brass brings more shine, and Antique Silver suits cooler greys and whites. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

Each Allen is made to order for you in Ireland, from brass with a glass shade, and is finished in the finish you choose when you order. It is a Class I fitting wired in to the mains, and it is for a qualified electrician to install. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, so pick one within that limit.
