The Aljento cushion is an outdoor cushion built around a hand-painted print of floral and bird motifs, worked in watercolour tones of blue, green and black on a white ground. It measures 43 x 43cm, the standard square that most scatter cushions and outdoor seat pads are cut to, so it drops straight onto a bench, a chair or a corner of a garden sofa without looking out of scale. The face carries the pattern; the reverse is a plain blue that picks up the deepest blues in the print.

This one is made for outside. It suits a patio chair, a balcony bench, a set of dining seats or a spot by the back door where a cushion has to put up with sun and the odd shower. The busy, bright print reads well against natural timber decking and dark metal furniture, and the birds-and-flowers motif sits comfortably with a Mediterranean or coastal look.
