Description

The Aetheris is a 78 x 53cm rectangle wall mirror framed in solid oak with a 4.5cm projection from the wall. The oak is finished in a clear protective coat that preserves the natural grain variation and warm mid-brown tone of the timber without staining or darkening it. The mirror glass is fitted into the frame from behind, leaving a clean sight line with no visible fixings or clips on the front face.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, dressing areas and above-console positions where a vertical mirror is needed for checking full outfits or reflecting natural light deeper into a room, the Aetheris hangs on two D-ring fixings positioned on the back of the frame. The 78cm height allows someone up to approximately 175cm tall to see their full upper body and head when the mirror is hung at standard eye level, while the 53cm width is narrow enough to fit between doorframes or on chimney breast alcoves in older properties.

The oak frame uses mitred corners with a simple squared profile that reads as contemporary rather than traditional, making the mirror compatible with both warm-toned Scandinavian interiors and neutral modern schemes. The weight of 7-20kg (varying with timber density) means the mirror needs to be fixed into masonry or timber studs using appropriate wall plugs and screws rather than adhesive pads. The natural oak pairs well with other timber furniture in the same room and ages to a slightly darker honey tone over time when exposed to daylight.

Frequently Asked

What fixings are needed to hang the mirror?

The mirror has two D-ring fixings on the back. Use appropriate wall plugs and screws rated for the mirror's weight (7-20kg) and fix into masonry or timber studs. Plasterboard fixings alone are not recommended due to the weight.

Is the oak finish natural or stained?

The oak is finished with a clear protective coat that preserves the natural grain and mid-brown colour of the timber. It is not stained or darkened beyond the wood's natural tone.

Can it be hung horizontally?

The D-ring fixings are positioned for vertical hanging. Horizontal orientation is possible if you reposition the fixings yourself, though the proportions work best in the vertical format for which it was designed.

Will the oak change colour over time?

Natural oak darkens slightly to a warmer honey tone when exposed to daylight over months and years. This is a normal characteristic of the timber and not a defect.
