The Aethera is a rectangular black outdoor wall light that houses two G9 bulb fittings — one firing upwards, one downwards — to cast parallel beams of light along exterior walls. The metal housing measures 150mm in projection and 65mm in width, with a single circular aperture at the base directing light downwards and an open top allowing the upper bulb to wash light up onto soffits and overhangs.

Designed for contemporary exteriors, the Aethera suits front entrance porches, covered patio walls, garage entrances and the exterior walls of balconies where both ambient and security lighting is needed. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm, making it suitable for locations with overhead shelter or under eaves where direct rainfall is minimal. The dimmable capability allows the light level to be adjusted when paired with compatible G9 LED bulbs and a suitable dimmer switch.

The matt black powder-coated finish resists corrosion and maintains colour consistency under UV exposure. The up-and-down beam pattern creates defined vertical lines of light on the wall surface, which works well where architectural features such as door frames, render texture or cladding joints benefit from grazing light. The compact 65mm width allows the fitting to sit flush on narrow wall sections without overwhelming door surrounds or narrow porch columns.

What bulbs does the Aethera require?

The fitting takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED capsules between 2W-4W and 2700K-3000K for warm white outdoor lighting. Check the maximum wattage rating before fitting halogen alternatives.

Is it suitable for fully exposed locations?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water but is not rated for full exposure to driving rain. Install the Aethera under eaves, covered porches or locations where overhead shelter limits direct rainfall. For fully exposed walls, consider a higher IP-rated alternative.

Does it create a strong up-and-down beam effect?

Yes. The single circular aperture at the base and the open top channel light into two defined vertical beams. The effect is most visible on plain rendered or painted walls where the light can graze the surface texture. On highly textured stone or brick the beams will be softer and less defined.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulb choice. Use dimmable G9 LED capsules and pair with a trailing-edge or LED-compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable G9 LEDs will not respond to dimming controls.
