Description

The Aethera is a 2-light outdoor wall light with a rectangular anthracite die-cast metal housing measuring 65mm wide by 150mm in projection. Two G9 bulb fittings (sold separately) direct light both upward and downward through frosted diffuser lenses at the top and bottom of the housing, creating vertical wash effects on the wall surface.

Designed for exterior entrance walls, patio areas, garden boundaries and covered porches, the Aethera carries an IP44 rating that protects against water splashes and solid objects above 1mm. The up/down light distribution suits vertical architectural features and door surrounds where ambient light is needed without direct glare. The fixture is surface-mounted to brick, rendered or timber walls using the backplate fixing points.

The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey powder-coated onto the die-cast housing, offering corrosion resistance and a neutral appearance that works with both modern grey-toned facades and traditional masonry. The 150mm projection keeps the housing clear of wall surfaces while allowing light to spread vertically without obstruction. G9 halogen or LED bulbs can be used (max wattage per socket varies by bulb type; see the Specification tab), and the circuit is dimmable when paired with compatible bulbs and dimming hardware.

Does the Aethera come with bulbs?

No. The fixture takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G9 LED bulbs are typically 3-5W and produce 300-500 lumens each; G9 halogen bulbs are typically 25-40W. Choose LED for lower energy consumption and longer bulb life.

Is it suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction and solid objects above 1mm. It is suitable for covered porches, under eaves, and wall positions protected from direct rainfall. For fully exposed locations with heavy rain or direct water jets, a higher IP rating (IP54 or above) is recommended.

Can it be used with a dimmer switch?

Yes. The circuit is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer module. Not all G9 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check bulb specifications before pairing with dimming hardware.

How is the fixture mounted?

The backplate fixes to the wall using two screws (fixings not supplied; choose screws appropriate for your wall type). The housing then secures to the backplate once wiring is connected to the terminal block inside.
