Description

The Adisa is a lidded glass jar holding sixteen small Christmas baubles, all of them silver. The jar is 13cm tall and 11cm across, blown from recycled glass with a rippled surface, and the lid is a flat-topped dome of the same glass that sits down into the neck. The baubles are about 3cm across and the silver is crazed all over, so the surface breaks light into small facets instead of reflecting it cleanly. The shapes are mixed: round spheres, pointed onion forms and ribbed pine-cone shapes among them.

Sixteen baubles in a single colour read as texture along a branch rather than as separate decorations, which is a different job from a mixed set. The jar is the storage as well as the packaging, so they go back into it at the end of the season. At 13cm it stands on a shelf or a side table through December with the lid on.

Both the jar and the baubles are recycled glass. Each bauble carries a brass cap and a velvet hanging tie. Adisa also runs in a mixed-colour set of the same size. The crazing differs across every bauble, so no two sets are the same piece for piece.

Frequently Asked

How many baubles come in the jar?

Sixteen, each about 3cm across.

Are they all the same shape?

No. The set mixes round spheres, pointed onion forms and ribbed pine-cone shapes. All sixteen are silver.

Does the jar have a use afterwards?

Yes. It is the storage as well as the packaging, and the lid sits down into the neck to hold them in.

Is the glass recycled?

Yes, the jar and the baubles both. The waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is blown or moulded.

How do I look after them?

A dry soft cloth for dust, and careful handling. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish. Indoor use only.
