Description

The Adastra 1U PDU is a rackmount power distribution unit with 2 UK BS1363 sockets on the left side and 8 IEC C13 outlets on the right, mounted in a 483mm-wide 1U steel chassis. A hardwired 1.8m power lead with UK 3-pin plug runs from the rear of the unit, allowing the PDU to be mounted in a rack and powered from a wall socket or upstream power source.

Designed for professional AV racks, server cabinets and flight cases, the unit distributes 230V AC power to multiple devices from a single mains connection. The two UK sockets handle standard 13A plugs for amplifiers, mixers, laptops and other equipment using BS1363 connectors. The eight IEC outlets power rack devices with IEC C14 inlets, including network switches, audio processors, powered speakers and CCTV recorders.

The UK sockets are protected by a resettable 10A fuse accessible from the front panel, indicated by four red switches that show power status. The total load capacity across all outlets is 13A at 230V, equivalent to approximately 2,990W. Each IEC outlet carries a maximum 10A rating. The steel chassis mounts using standard 19-inch rack ears and occupies a single rack unit of vertical space, fitting between other rack-mounted equipment.

Frequently Asked

What's the maximum total load?

The PDU carries a 13A total load rating at 230V, approximately 2,990W across all outlets combined. Each IEC outlet is rated to 10A maximum. The UK sockets share a resettable 10A fuse.

Can the lead be removed or extended?

The 1.8m lead is hardwired into the rear of the unit and cannot be removed. To extend reach, use a standard UK extension lead between the wall socket and the PDU's plug.

What protection does it offer?

The UK sockets are protected by a resettable 10A fuse accessible from the front panel. The IEC outlets do not have individual circuit protection. For surge protection or circuit breaker functionality, pair with an upstream protected power source.

What rack depth is required?

The unit is 44mm deep from the front mounting ears to the rear panel. The 1.8m lead exits from the back, so the rack must allow cable routing behind the unit or sufficient space for the lead to loop forward.
