Description

The Adare wall spotlight is a single brass spotlight with a ribbed cylindrical head on a short arm, fixed to a round wall plate. Fine ribbing runs along the length of the head, giving a plain cylinder a crisp, tailored texture that catches the light. We offer it in five finishes: Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black and Satin Brass, so it can sit with warm or cool metalwork elsewhere in the room. It is 16.64cm tall and 8.5cm wide, and stands 18.95cm out from the wall. It takes one GU10 bulb of up to 5W, and bulbs are sold separately.

A spotlight puts its light where you point it, and the adjustable head lets you angle the beam onto a shelf, a picture or a stretch of wall. In a kitchen it works well picking out open shelving or a dresser, and a pair either side of a window gives a neat, balanced look. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it should be kept away from the sink, the hob and anywhere it could be splashed. The finishes help it settle in: the three brass finishes suit warm wood and painted cabinets, while Antique Silver and Matt Black sit easily beside darker metalwork and stone.

Each Adare is made to order for you in Ireland, and it is made of brass; the Matt Black version is painted in RAL 9005. The spotlight is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. One practical note: buy your GU10 bulb before the electrician arrives, keeping to 5W or less, so the spotlight can be lit as soon as it is up on the wall.
