The Adare ceiling spotlight sets two reeded, cylindrical brass heads on a round ceiling plate, with a small ball finial at its centre. Each head sits on a short arm with a joint, so you can angle the two beams independently and put the light exactly where it is needed. The fitting is 18.25cm tall and 20cm across, a compact size that keeps the ceiling uncluttered. We offer it in five finishes: Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, with Matt Black painted to RAL 9005. Each head takes one GU10 bulb, and the bulbs are sold separately, so you will need two GU10 bulbs of up to 5W per bulb.

Two heads that point in different directions make this a practical light for a kitchen: aim one at the worktop and the other at the table or a shelf, and one fitting does the work of two. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only and belongs away from the sink and anywhere it could be splashed. The finish is your choice to suit the room. Antique Brass and Antique Silver have a softer, aged look that suits an older house, Polished Brass gives a bright shine, Satin Brass a quieter glow, and Matt Black a simpler, darker look against a pale ceiling.

Every Adare is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass, and given the finish you choose. The reeding runs the full length of each head, so the fine ribs catch the light whichever way you turn it. As a mains fitting, it is wired in by a qualified electrician. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, though bulbs are not covered, which makes it a sound choice for a kitchen you mean to keep for many years.
