Description

The Acete is a 50W LED floodlight built for outdoor security and area lighting. It draws on 220-240V AC mains and delivers up to 5400 lumens, with a colour selectable output switching between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6500K daylight to suit the setting. A wide 90 degree beam angle spreads light across a broad arc rather than a tight spot, and across the Atlantic this format is the familiar LED security flood used for driveways and yards.

Out on a wall or under an eave, the Acete throws light across driveways, side passages, car parks and building frontages. Its broad 90 degree beam washes a wide area close to the mounting point, making it well suited to lighting an entrance, a parking bay or the approach to a door rather than projecting a narrow beam over long distance. As a rough guide to brightness, its peak 5400 lumen output is in the region of a 270W old halogen floodlight, so it covers the same ground for a fraction of the running cost.

The housing is aluminium alloy in a grey finish, rated IP65 so it copes with rain and wind-driven water in fully exposed positions. It can be ceiling or wall mounted and runs direct from mains voltage with no separate transformer to specify. This model is not dimmable, with the colour temperature set by a switch on the fitting. The Acete range includes further wattages for matching larger and smaller areas across a site.

At its peak 5400 lumens, the Acete is roughly equivalent to an old halogen floodlight of around 270W. You get a similar spread of light while drawing far less power.

Is it suitable for outdoor and wet locations?

Yes. The IP65 rating means it is weatherproof and can be mounted in fully exposed positions, standing up to rain and wind-driven water on walls and under eaves.

How do I clean the floodlight?

Switch it off and let it cool, then wipe the front glass and grey housing with a soft damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners so the lens stays clear and the beam unobstructed.
