Description
The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 146.5mm square polished chrome plate designed to house eight modular grid switches or sockets from the Knightsbridge grid system. The rounded edge profile gives a softer visual line than flat-edge plates and coordinates with the Rounded Edge Polished Chrome switches and sockets range. The plate is manufactured from premium-grade steel with a polished chrome finish that provides a bright, reflective surface.
This faceplate is used in multi-switch installations where several lighting circuits, sockets or dimmer controls need to be grouped in a single location. Common applications include hallways with multiple lighting zones, home cinema rooms with multiple dimmer controls, commercial reception areas, and hotel rooms where several services are controlled from one panel. The grid system allows the installer to configure the exact combination of switches, sockets and other modules needed, with the faceplate providing the decorative finish.
The faceplate requires two GDF002F grid frames (sold separately) to be fitted behind it, which hold the individual grid modules in place. The 7.5mm projection from the wall gives the plate a low profile once installed. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor locations. The polished chrome finish pairs well with contemporary, modern and traditional interiors where bright metallic accents are used, and can be cleaned with a soft cloth to maintain the reflective surface.

Frequently Asked
What grid frames are needed to use this faceplate?
This 8-gang faceplate requires two GDF002F grid frames, which are sold separately. The frames mount to the back box first, then the individual grid modules clip into the frames, and finally the faceplate covers the entire assembly.
Is this compatible with other brands of grid systems?
No. This faceplate is designed specifically for the Knightsbridge grid system and will only fit Knightsbridge grid frames and modules. It is not compatible with other manufacturers' grid systems.
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm back box depth is typically required for grid installations, though the exact depth depends on which grid modules are being used. Deeper modules such as dimmers may require a 47mm back box. Check the specification of the specific modules you are installing.
Can the polished chrome finish be cleaned?
Yes. Wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints and dust. For stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with water, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes that can scratch the chrome surface.
