The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 148mm square brushed chrome screwless cover plate designed to house eight modular grid switches, sockets or dimmers. Built from premium-grade steel with a directional brushed finish, the plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame rather than fixing with visible screws, giving a clean front face once installed.

Designed for use with Knightsbridge's modular grid system, the faceplate requires one GDS003F grid frame (sold separately) to hold the individual grid modules behind the plate. This allows installers and specifiers to configure custom switch and socket combinations rather than using fixed pre-wired units. Common applications include commercial reception desks, hotel rooms, meeting rooms and residential installations where multiple circuits are controlled from a single wall position.

The brushed chrome finish has a subtle directional grain that catches light differently depending on viewing angle, reducing fingerprint visibility compared to polished finishes. The 3.5mm projection from the wall once fitted keeps the plate flush with typical plaster depths. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations and the plate carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty covering finish degradation and mechanical failure under normal residential or commercial use.

This faceplate requires one Knightsbridge GDS003F grid frame, sold separately. The frame fixes to the back box and holds up to eight individual grid modules. The screwless cover plate then clips onto the frame.

Can I use this with standard switches and sockets?

No. This faceplate is designed exclusively for Knightsbridge's modular grid system. It will not fit over standard UK switches or sockets. You must use grid modules designed to clip into the GDS003F frame.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The brushed chrome cover plate clips onto the metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed without tools for painting or wallpapering around the installation, then re-clipped once decoration is complete.
