Description
The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 147.5mm square brushed brass cover plate for modular grid switch and socket installations. Constructed from premium-grade steel with a brushed brass finish, the plate measures 3.5mm in projection from the wall, giving an ultra-flat profile that sits nearly flush with plasterwork once installed.
Designed for use with Knightsbridge's Flat Plate Grid System, the faceplate accepts two GDF002F grid frames (sold separately), each of which houses up to four modular grid switches, sockets or other grid modules. This allows custom configurations of light switches, dimmer switches, data sockets, TV outlets and other modules behind a single unified faceplate. The system is commonly used in residential new builds, renovations and commercial installations where multiple switching functions need to be grouped at one location.
The brushed brass finish provides a warm metallic accent with a low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints and pairs cleanly with both traditional and contemporary interiors. The steel construction gives rigidity to the plate, preventing flexing when modules are inserted or removed, and the IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor use. The faceplate carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

Frequently Asked
What grid frames are needed?
This faceplate requires two GDF002F grid frames (sold separately). Each frame holds up to four modular grid switches or sockets, giving eight total module positions across the two frames.
Is this compatible with other manufacturers' grid systems?
No. This faceplate is designed specifically for Knightsbridge's Flat Plate Grid System and requires Knightsbridge GDF002F frames and grid modules. It is not compatible with other brands' modular grid systems.
What back box is required?
A twin-gang 35mm back box is typically used for 8-gang grid installations, although the exact box depth depends on the number and type of modules fitted. Consult the GDF002F frame specification or a qualified electrician for installation guidance.
Can I mix switch types behind the same faceplate?
Yes. The Knightsbridge grid system allows light switches, dimmer switches, socket outlets, data modules, TV/satellite outlets and blank plates to be combined in any arrangement across the eight module positions.
