Description
The Knightsbridge 6-gang grid faceplate is a 146mm square anthracite front plate designed for the Curved Edge modular grid system. Rated Part M compliant under current UK Building Regulations, the plate carries a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of approximately 8.9, providing the required 30% contrast against typical white or light-coloured walls to aid visibility for partially sighted users.
Used in conjunction with two CUG2F grid sub-frames (sold separately), the faceplate supports six Curved Edge grid modules in any combination of switches, sockets, dimmers, or data outlets. This allows bespoke electrical installations to be configured for commercial, hospitality and accessible residential projects where Building Regulations Part M compliance is mandatory. The thermoset resin construction provides durability under repeated switching cycles and carries inherent anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011.
The anthracite finish is a dark grey-black tone that contrasts against standard white or cream wall colours while remaining visually softer than pure black. The curved edge design reduces the sharpness of the plate perimeter, fitting comfortably in modern and contemporary interiors. At 7mm projection from the wall once installed, the faceplate sits flush with minimal visual intrusion. Knightsbridge backs the plate with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What is Part M compliance and why does it matter?
Part M of UK Building Regulations requires electrical accessories in new builds and certain refurbishments to provide sufficient visual contrast for partially sighted users. This anthracite faceplate has an LRV of 8.9, which gives the recommended 30% contrast against standard white or light walls, making switches easier to locate.
What grid modules does this faceplate support?
The plate accommodates six Knightsbridge Curved Edge grid modules in any combination. You will need two CUG2F grid sub-frames (sold separately) to mount the modules behind the faceplate. Modules are then clipped into the sub-frames before the faceplate is fitted over the top.
What are the anti-microbial properties?
The thermoset resin material carries inherent anti-microbial properties that inhibit bacterial growth on the surface. This has been third-party tested to ISO 22196:2011, making the faceplate suitable for healthcare, hospitality and food preparation environments where hygiene standards are critical.
Is the faceplate suitable for bathrooms?
The IP20 rating means the plate is designed for dry indoor environments. For bathroom zones requiring moisture protection, you would need a higher IP-rated product. Check the specific zone requirements for your installation before specifying.
