Description

The Knightsbridge 6-gang grid faceplate is a 147.5mm square brushed chrome cover plate designed to house modular grid switches, dimmers and data outlets in a flat plate format. The faceplate accepts two standard 3-module grid frames (GDF002F, sold separately), giving a total capacity of six modules arranged in a two-row configuration.

Designed for residential and commercial installations where multiple switch or socket functions need consolidating at a single wall location, the grid system allows customisation of control layouts without needing pre-configured multi-gang plates. The 3.5mm projection from wall surface keeps the faceplate flush with plasterwork, and the brushed chrome finish coordinates with the Knightsbridge Flat Plate range of switches and sockets.

The faceplate is pressed from premium-grade steel with a directional brushed finish that diffuses fingerprints and resists surface scratching better than polished alternatives. The plate fixes to a standard back box using four visible corner screws, and the apertures align with the grid frame modules once the frames are clipped into position. The IP20 rating makes this suitable for dry indoor locations only.

What grid frames are needed?

This faceplate requires two GDF002F 3-module grid frames to give a total capacity of six modules. The frames clip into the faceplate apertures and hold the individual switch or socket modules in position.

What modules fit this system?

Knightsbridge produces a range of grid modules including light switches, dimmer switches, data outlets, TV/satellite connections and blank plates. Only modules from the Flat Plate grid range are compatible with this faceplate.

Is this screwless?

No. The faceplate uses four visible corner screws to fix to the back box. For a screwless alternative, consider the Knightsbridge Screwless Flat Plate range which uses a clip-on cover system.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means this faceplate is suitable for dry indoor locations only and cannot be used in zones where water splash or outdoor moisture is present.
