Description

The Knightsbridge GU5PDDL is a 5W GU10 LED bulb delivering 665 lumens at a 6500K daylight colour temperature. The bulb fits standard GU10 twist-and-lock sockets and is compatible with most trailing-edge and leading-edge LED dimmers, allowing brightness adjustment where required. The 40° beam angle provides focused directional light suitable for spotlight fittings, track lighting and recessed downlights.

Designed for use in kitchens, bathrooms, home offices and retail spaces where cooler daylight tones are needed, the 6500K colour temperature sits at the blue-white end of the spectrum and provides high colour clarity for task work. The bulb's 120lm/W efficacy replaces traditional 50W halogen GU10 bulbs while consuming 90% less energy. The L70B50 rating of 25,000 hours indicates the bulb will maintain 70% of its initial lumen output after 25,000 hours of use, equivalent to approximately 11 years at 6 hours daily operation.

The white polycarbonate body measures 50mm diameter by 54mm height and houses SMD LED technology behind a prismatic diffuser that softens the light output and reduces glare. The IP20 rating confirms the bulb is suitable for dry indoor environments but should not be used in shower zones or outdoor locations. The CRI of >80 provides good colour rendering for most residential and commercial applications.

Yes. The bulb is compatible with most trailing-edge and leading-edge LED dimmers. If you experience flickering or inconsistent dimming, check that your dimmer switch is rated for LED loads and consider upgrading to an LED-compatible dimmer module.

Can this be used in bathroom downlights?

The IP20 rating means the bulb is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It can be used in bathroom downlights outside shower zones (zones 0, 1, 2) but should not be fitted in recessed downlights directly above baths or showers, which require IP65-rated fittings.

How long will the bulb last?
