Description
The Knightsbridge GU5PDWW is a 5W GU10 LED bulb delivering 645 lumens at 3000K warm white with a 40° beam angle. The bulb uses SMD LED technology behind a prismatic polycarbonate diffuser, which spreads the light evenly across the beam and reduces harsh shadows compared to clear-lens GU10s.
Designed as a direct replacement for halogen GU10 spotlights in domestic and commercial downlighters, track lights and adjustable ceiling fittings, the bulb runs on 230V mains without requiring a transformer. The dimmable design works with most trailing and leading edge dimmer switches, allowing light levels to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low glow for ambient evening lighting.
The 645lm output is comparable to a 50W halogen GU10 while consuming only 5W, giving an efficacy of 116.43lm/W. The 3000K colour temperature sits at the warm end of the white spectrum, producing a soft yellow-white light that suits living rooms, bedrooms, hospitality spaces and dining areas. The polycarbonate body measures 50mm diameter by 54mm height, fitting standard GU10 lamp holders without protruding excessively from recessed downlighters.
The bulb carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use only and is rated to 25,000 hours L70B50 lifespan, meaning 50% of bulbs in a batch will still deliver at least 70% of their initial lumen output after 25,000 hours of use. The colour rendering index exceeds CRI 80, providing adequate colour accuracy for most residential and commercial applications.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb compatible with dimmer switches?
Yes, the bulb is dimmable and compatible with most trailing and leading edge dimmer switches. Dimmer performance can vary between brands and models, so test compatibility with your specific dimmer before installing multiple bulbs. Some dimmers may cause flickering at the lowest brightness setting or may not dim all the way down to zero.
What's the equivalent halogen wattage?
The 645lm output is comparable to a 50W halogen GU10 spotlight. The 5W power consumption gives an energy saving of approximately 90% compared to the halogen equivalent.
What colour temperature is 3000K?
3000K is warm white, sitting at the warmer end of the white spectrum. It produces a soft yellow-white light similar to traditional incandescent bulbs and halogen spotlights, making it well-suited to living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas where a cosy atmosphere is preferred over clinical brightness.
Can this bulb be used in bathrooms?
The IP20 rating means the bulb is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It can be used in bathroom downlighters positioned outside zones 0, 1 and 2 (typically general ceiling areas away from the shower or bath enclosure), but not in fittings within the wet zones themselves.
