Description

The Knightsbridge 45A DP switch is a double-pole cooker control switch with a neon indicator, housed in a 2-gang size brushed brass faceplate. The switch isolates both live and neutral lines on a single 45A circuit, providing safe isolation for electric cookers, hobs and ovens rated up to 10,440W at 230V. The red neon indicator glows when the switch is in the on position, giving visual confirmation that power is live to the appliance.

Designed for kitchen installation where a cooker control unit is required by wiring regulations, the switch fits a standard 47mm minimum back box depth and occupies the same wall space as a 2-gang socket. The double-pole switching is preferred for high-current cooking appliances because it isolates both live and neutral, reducing the risk of voltage remaining on the appliance when switched off for cleaning or maintenance. The 2-gang plate size allows the switch to be positioned consistently with other electrical accessories in the same room.
