The Knightsbridge 4-gang grid faceplate is a 148mm polished chrome screwless cover plate designed for modular grid switch and socket installations. The faceplate clips onto a separate GDS002F frame (sold separately), which holds up to four grid modules in a single aperture. The screwless design removes visible fixings from the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates.

Grid systems are used in residential, hospitality and commercial projects where flexibility is needed — builders and electricians can mix different switch, socket, dimmer and data modules behind a single unified faceplate rather than installing multiple separate accessories side-by-side. The 4-gang format is the widest standard UK grid configuration and typically replaces four separate single-gang accessories or two double-gang accessories on a wall run.

The polished chrome finish is a high-gloss reflective surface that pairs with both contemporary and traditional interiors. Can I use this with standard switches and sockets?

No. This faceplate is only compatible with Knightsbridge's modular grid system. It requires a GDS002F frame and grid-format modules (switches, sockets, dimmers, data outlets). It will not fit over standard UK switch or socket mechanisms.

What back box depth is needed?

The GDS002F frame that sits behind this faceplate requires a 25mm minimum back box depth for single-module grids, and 35mm for deeper modules like sockets or dimmers. Check the specification of the grid modules you're installing to confirm the correct back box depth.

How is the screwless plate attached?

The faceplate clips onto the GDS002F frame, which is fixed to the back box with screws. Once the frame is secured and the grid modules are installed, the faceplate clicks over the top, hiding all screws and fixings from view. The plate can be removed and re-fitted without disturbing the wiring.
