Description

The Knightsbridge 4-gang grid faceplate provides a polished chrome surround for modular grid switch and socket inserts, forming part of the Rounded Edge range. The faceplate is cut from premium-grade steel with a polished chrome finish and rounded edge profile, designed to accept four standard grid module positions arranged horizontally.

Designed for modular grid installations in residential and commercial settings, the faceplate works only with Knightsbridge grid system components. Each installation requires the faceplate plus one GDF002F grid frame (sold separately), which mounts to the back box and holds the individual grid modules in place behind the faceplate. The faceplate then clips over the frame to provide the finished wall surface with no visible screws.

At 146.5mm wide by 85.75mm tall, the faceplate coordinates dimensionally with standard UK double-gang switch plates, making it suitable for installations where grid and conventional wiring accessories are used alongside each other. The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-reflective surface that pairs with contemporary, industrial and high-contrast interiors. The 7.5mm projection from the wall gives a low-profile finish once installed, and the rounded edge softens the visual line between the plate and the wall surface.

What components are needed for a complete installation?

The faceplate alone does not provide a working installation. You need one GDF002F grid frame (sold separately), which mounts to the back box and holds up to four grid modules. The faceplate then clips over the frame to provide the finished surface. Grid modules (switches, sockets, blanks) are also sold separately.

Is this compatible with standard switches and sockets?

No. The faceplate is designed exclusively for use with Knightsbridge grid system components. It will not accept standard plate-mounted switches or sockets from conventional ranges.

What back box is required?

The grid frame (GDF002F) fits standard UK double-gang 35mm or 47mm metal back boxes. The deeper 47mm box provides more room for cable terminations when multiple grid modules are installed.

What other finishes are available in the Rounded Edge range?
