The Knightsbridge 4-gang grid faceplate is a brushed brass cover plate measuring 87.5mm high by 147.5mm wide, designed to accommodate four grid modules from the Flat Plate Grid System. The faceplate itself is a flat steel panel finished in brushed brass with a 3.5mm projection from the wall once fitted, providing a low-profile finish that sits nearly flush with the wall surface.

Grid faceplates are used in installations where multiple functions need to be combined in a single plate — for example, two light switches, a socket, and a telephone jack in one location. The faceplate requires a GDF002F sub-frame (sold separately) to be fitted to the back box first, with the individual grid modules clipped into the frame, and then the faceplate is fixed over the top. This system allows installers to configure bespoke switch and socket combinations without needing to buy pre-configured multi-gang units.

The brushed brass finish on premium-grade steel gives a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional and contemporary interiors. The finish is directionally brushed to soften reflections and hide fingerprints better than polished brass. What sub-frame and modules are needed?

This faceplate requires one GDF002F sub-frame and up to four grid modules chosen from the Flat Plate Grid System range. The sub-frame is fitted to the back box first, the modules clip into the frame, and the faceplate is then fixed over the assembly. All components are sold separately.

Can this be used with standard switches and sockets?

No. This faceplate is only compatible with the Knightsbridge Flat Plate Grid System modules. It cannot be used with standard switches or sockets designed for screw-fixed or screwless cover plates.

What back box depth is required?

Back box depth depends on the specific grid modules being installed. Most grid modules require a 25mm minimum depth, but check the specification for each module to confirm before installation.

Is the brushed brass finish lacquered?

Knightsbridge typically applies a light protective lacquer to brushed brass finishes to slow tarnishing. Over time, brass will naturally darken; the brushed texture helps this ageing look more uniform than polished brass.
