Description

The Knightsbridge 3m single circuit track is a 10A-rated aluminium rail with internal copper conductors, finished in matt black and supplied with live and dead end caps. The track measures 35mm wide by 17mm deep and mounts directly to ceilings or bulkheads using the supplied fixings, creating a continuous electrical run for track-mounted spotlights or pendant adapters.

Designed for retail, hospitality, gallery and commercial installations where multiple light fittings need to be positioned and repositioned along a single run, the track accepts any fitting with a compatible single-circuit track adapter. The 10A rating at 230V supports up to 2,300W total load across all fittings on the run, allowing between 4-8 typical LED track spotlights depending on wattage. The 3m length suits larger spaces or extended runs where continuous coverage is needed without joins.

The aluminium extrusion provides rigidity without excessive weight, and the black powder-coat finish resists marking and corrosion in typical indoor environments. The track is Class I earthed and carries an IP20 rating, making it suitable for dry interior locations only. The live and dead end caps close the track terminals at both ends of the run, with the live end accepting the mains feed and the dead end providing a clean termination.

What fittings are compatible with this track?

The track accepts any spotlight or pendant adapter designed for single-circuit track systems. Most Knightsbridge track spotlights and third-party single-circuit track fittings will fit, provided they use the same adapter profile.

Can the track be cut to length?

Yes. The aluminium extrusion can be cut with a hacksaw or mitre saw to fit shorter runs. After cutting, file the edges smooth and refit the end caps to the new cut ends.

How many spotlights can be fitted?

The 10A rating at 230V supports up to 2,300W total load. A typical 6W LED track spotlight draws 0.03A, allowing approximately 300 fittings theoretically, but practical installations typically run 4-8 spotlights per 3m track depending on spacing and light intensity requirements.

Is the track dimmable?

The track itself is passive wiring. Dimming depends on the spotlights fitted to it and the dimmer controlling the circuit. If the track is fed from a dimmer-compatible circuit and the spotlights are dimmable LEDs, the system will dim.
