Description

The Knightsbridge 3-gang grid faceplate is a brushed chrome cover plate with three apertures designed for use with the Knightsbridge modular grid system. The plate itself measures 86mm x 146.5mm and is constructed from premium-grade steel with a brushed chrome finish and softly rounded edges that sit 7.5mm proud of the wall once installed.

This faceplate is designed for installations requiring three modular grid inserts — such as combinations of light switches, dimmer modules, data ports or TV/satellite outlets — fitted into a single wall plate. The plate mounts onto a separate grid frame (GDF002F, sold separately), which houses the individual grid modules behind the faceplate. The rounded edge profile reduces the visual break between wall and plate, making it well-suited to modern and contemporary interiors.

The brushed chrome finish has a directional grain that diffuses reflections and coordinates with the wider Knightsbridge Rounded Edge Brushed Chrome range of switches and sockets. The steel construction provides rigidity across the 146.5mm width without warping when mounted, and the IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor locations such as living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.

What components are needed to complete the installation?

This faceplate requires one GDF002F grid frame (sold separately) to mount the modular grid inserts. The grid frame fixes to a standard 35mm back box, and the individual grid modules (switches, dimmers, sockets) clip into the frame before the faceplate is fitted over the top.

Can this be used with other brands of grid modules?

No. This faceplate is designed specifically for the Knightsbridge grid system and will not fit grid modules or frames from other manufacturers. Mixing brands may result in poor fit, exposed edges or unsafe installation.

Is the faceplate screwed to the wall?

The faceplate clips onto the GDF002F grid frame, which is itself screwed to the back box. The faceplate has no visible screws — it uses concealed fixings for a cleaner finish.
