Description

This 3.6V 1500mAh nickel-cadmium battery pack provides backup power for Duceri emergency lighting units including the EMLED5WMFLUSH, EMLEDWMFLUSH and EMDLED3WMEXBOX models. Three SC-size Ni-Cd cells are configured in parallel and shrink-wrapped together with pre-attached wiring terminated in a white connector plug that matches the socket in compatible Duceri fittings.

Designed as a direct replacement battery for emergency lighting installations in commercial, retail and public buildings, the pack slots into the rear housing of the emergency fitting behind the LED board. The battery maintains charge during mains operation and automatically powers the LED when mains power is lost, providing the legally-required emergency illumination duration. The parallel cell configuration balances current draw across all three cells, extending service life compared to single-cell designs.

The nickel-cadmium chemistry tolerates the partial charge-discharge cycling typical of emergency lighting applications better than some lithium alternatives, and operates across a wider temperature range. The label specifies a maximum cell temperature of 50°C and recommends replacement every four years from the date of installation to maintain reliable emergency operation. At 200mm length including the wiring tail, the pack fits the battery compartment in standard Duceri emergency fittings without modification.

Frequently Asked

Which Duceri emergency lights does this battery fit?

This battery is compatible with Duceri models EMLED5WMFLUSH, EMLEDWMFLUSH and EMDLED3WMEXBOX. Check your existing emergency fitting model number before ordering, as other Duceri models may require different battery configurations or voltages.

How often should the battery be replaced?

The label recommends replacement every four years from the date of installation. Emergency lighting batteries are subject to Building Regulations testing requirements, and replacing the battery on schedule maintains compliance and ensures the fitting will operate during a power outage.

Can this battery be disposed of in general waste?

No. Nickel-cadmium batteries contain hazardous materials and must be recycled through a battery recycling scheme or returned to a hazardous waste collection point. The label explicitly states 'Disposal: Do Not Incinerate' and shows the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol indicating WEEE Directive compliance.

What is the operating temperature range?

The maximum cell temperature is 50°C as stated on the label. Nickel-cadmium cells typically operate in ambient temperatures from -20°C to +50°C, making them suitable for most UK building environments including unheated corridors and stairwells where emergency lighting is commonly installed.
