Description

This 3.6V 1200mAh nickel-cadmium battery pack is a direct replacement for Duceri emergency lighting units, specifically the EMDLED3WMBULK2 model. The battery consists of three sub-C NiCd cells wired in series and housed in a white PVC sleeve, terminating in a two-pin push-fit connector. The 1200mAh capacity provides standby power for emergency lighting luminaires during mains failure.

Designed for installation in commercial, industrial and public buildings where emergency lighting is a regulatory requirement, the battery recharges automatically when mains power is present and activates the emergency lamp when mains power fails. The 200mm pack length fits standard emergency lighting housings without modification. Installation involves disconnecting the existing battery connector and pushing the replacement onto the same terminals inside the luminaire housing.

Nickel-cadmium chemistry tolerates the repeated shallow charge-discharge cycles typical of emergency lighting applications better than standard alkaline cells. The battery carries CE certification and is manufactured to the date code visible on the label (format Year-Month). Battery life depends on charge-discharge frequency and ambient temperature, with typical service life of 3-5 years in normal commercial environments before replacement is needed.

Frequently Asked

Which Duceri emergency lights does this battery fit?

This battery is specified as a replacement for the Duceri EMDLED3WMBULK2 emergency lighting unit. It may fit other Duceri models using the same connector and voltage, but compatibility should be confirmed before ordering.

How long does the battery last before needing replacement?

Typical service life is 3-5 years in normal commercial environments. Battery degradation accelerates in high-temperature locations or where frequent charge-discharge cycles occur due to unreliable mains supply.

Can I install this myself?

Installation requires disconnecting mains power to the emergency lighting unit, removing the old battery via the push-fit connector, and fitting the replacement. Competent persons familiar with emergency lighting servicing can perform this work. For compliance with building regulations, some installations require certification by a qualified electrician.

What is nickel-cadmium chemistry?

Nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries use nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium as electrodes. They tolerate repeated shallow charge-discharge cycles better than lead-acid or alkaline chemistries, making them well-suited to emergency lighting standby applications where the battery remains on trickle charge most of the time.
