Description
The Knightsbridge LEDAD36 is a 24V constant voltage LED power adaptor rated at 36W maximum output, designed to supply low-voltage LED cabinet lights, strip lights and furniture lighting. The adaptor converts 220-240V AC mains input to 24V DC output at 1.5A, housed in a black polycarbonate case measuring 110mm x 53mm x 36mm.
Designed for installation inside kitchen plinths, under cabinets, or behind furniture where mains voltage cannot be run directly to the LED fittings, the adaptor includes a 1.5m output cable with exposed core terminations for direct connection to LED strip or cabinet lighting cable runs. The input cable terminates in a standard UK 3-pin plug. The Class II construction (double-insulated) means no earth connection is required, simplifying installation in non-metallic furniture and cabinetry.
The constant voltage output maintains a stable 24V across the LED load, which is essential for colour consistency and longevity in LED strip and cabinet lighting. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations only — the adaptor is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or anywhere moisture ingress is possible. The 36W maximum output supports approximately 3 metres of typical 12W-per-metre LED strip at full brightness, or multiple low-wattage cabinet puck lights wired in parallel.

Frequently Asked
What LED fittings is this compatible with?
The adaptor suits any 24V constant voltage LED fitting with a total wattage up to 36W. This includes most LED strip lights rated at 24V (typically 12W per metre, supporting up to 3m), under-cabinet puck lights, and furniture-mounted LED bars. Check the LED fitting's voltage and wattage requirements before connecting.
Is this dimmable?
No. The LEDAD36 provides non-dimmable constant voltage output. If dimming is required, pair the LED fittings with a separate inline 24V LED dimmer module downstream of this adaptor, or use a dedicated dimmable LED driver instead.
Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the adaptor is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not protected against moisture ingress and must not be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, outdoor locations, or anywhere water or condensation is present.
Does the output cable need to be extended?
The 1.5m output cable with exposed cores allows direct connection to LED strip or cabinet light cable runs. If additional length is needed, use appropriate twin-core low-voltage cable rated for 24V DC and connect using suitable terminal blocks or soldered joints.
