Description
The Knightsbridge GDM008PC is a 20AX double pole key switch module marked 'EMG LTG TEST' on a polished chrome faceplate. The module clips into the front of Knightsbridge modular grid mounting frames (sold separately) and provides key-controlled switching for emergency lighting test circuits or other applications requiring secure, lockable control.
Designed for commercial, hospitality and industrial installations where emergency lighting circuits need to be tested under BS 5266-1 requirements, the module allows maintenance personnel to switch on emergency lighting while mains power is still connected, simulating a power failure. The key switch prevents unauthorised operation, ensuring that only qualified staff can initiate test cycles.
The module measures 24.8mm wide and fits standard Knightsbridge grid frames in 1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang and larger configurations. The polished chrome finish on the front faceplate matches other Knightsbridge grid modules in the same finish, allowing consistent styling across multi-module plates. The double pole switching isolates both live and neutral, providing additional safety during maintenance operations. One key is supplied with the module.

Frequently Asked
What is this module used for?
The EMG LTG TEST key switch is designed for emergency lighting test circuits, allowing maintenance personnel to test emergency lighting while mains power is still connected. The key-operated switch prevents unauthorised operation and is commonly specified under BS 5266-1 requirements for commercial and industrial buildings.
What grid frame does it fit?
The module fits Knightsbridge modular grid mounting frames (sold separately) and clips into position from the front. The 24.8mm width is a standard single-module size, so it can be combined with other Knightsbridge grid modules in multi-gang frames.
Is a key included?
Yes. One key is supplied with the module. Replacement keys or additional keys can be ordered separately if required for sites with multiple key switch modules.
What back box depth is needed?
A 35mm minimum back box depth is required. The grid frame itself adds to the overall projection once installed, so check the specific grid frame specification for total depth.
