Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX DP grid module is a single-gang switch unit with an integrated LED status indicator, finished in smoked bronze. The module measures 24.8mm wide and clips into standard Knightsbridge grid mounting frames from the front, allowing it to be combined with other grid modules to build custom switch plates of 2, 3, 4 or more gangs.

Designed for residential and commercial grid installations where individual circuit control is needed, the module uses double pole switching that isolates both live and neutral lines when switched off. The LED indicator lights when the switch is in the on position, making it useful for identifying which circuits are live in multi-gang plates or for confirming that an appliance circuit is powered. The 20AX rating handles loads up to 4,600W on a 230V supply.

The ABS and steel construction gives the module physical resilience during installation and a 25-year warranty against manufacturing defects. The smoked bronze finish provides a dark metallic accent that pairs with both contemporary and industrial interiors. The module requires a 35mm minimum back box depth and carries an IP20 rating, making it suitable for dry interior locations only.

Grid modules are individual switch or socket units that clip into a mounting frame to build custom multi-gang plates. Instead of buying a fixed 3-gang or 4-gang plate, you buy the exact number and type of modules you need and combine them in a single frame. This module is one gang wide and clips in from the front of Knightsbridge grid frames, which are sold separately.

What does the LED indicator show?

The LED lights when the switch is in the on position, confirming that the circuit is live. This is useful in multi-gang plates where you need to quickly identify which circuits are powered, or for appliances like immersion heaters where remote visual confirmation of on/off status is helpful.

What load can this module handle?

The 20AX rating handles loads up to 4,600W on a 230V supply. This makes it suitable for high-draw appliances including cookers, immersion heaters and other fixed appliances that require double pole isolation.

Can this be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry interior locations only and should not be installed in zones 1 or 2 of bathrooms or in any outdoor location.
