Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang grid faceplate is an 86mm square anthracite plate designed to accept two curved edge grid modules from Knightsbridge's modular switching system. Moulded from thermoset resin with anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, the plate achieves a Light Reflectance Value of 8.9, qualifying it for Part M compliance when paired with contrasting white or light-coloured rocker modules.

Part M of the Building Regulations requires switches and sockets to contrast visually with their surroundings for ease of identification by users with visual impairment. This anthracite faceplate provides the required 30% LRV difference against white modules and works on light-coloured walls to meet compliance in new builds, extensions and material alterations to dwellings. The plate mounts onto a separate 1-2 gang mounting frame (sold separately), which fixes to a standard 25mm back box.

The curved edge profile gives a softer visual line than flat plates and the 7mm projection from the wall keeps the installation low-profile. The thermoset resin construction resists impact and everyday wear better than standard thermoplastic faceplates, and the anti-microbial additive reduces bacterial colonisation on the surface — tested by third-party laboratories and relevant in clinical, care and high-footfall commercial environments.
