Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang brush faceplate is a cable-pass-through wall plate that allows HDMI, power, aerial and other cables to route from behind a wall-mounted TV or monitor down to equipment below whilst keeping the aperture concealed. The black brush strips form two separate channels across the 147 x 86mm faceplate, each allowing multiple cables to pass through whilst the bristles close around them to hide the cut-out in the plasterboard.

Designed for residential and commercial AV installations where cables need to run between stud walls or cavity walls, the faceplate is most commonly used in 'floating TV' setups where the screen is mounted on a bracket with no visible cables running down the wall face. The plate fits a standard UK 2-gang back box (25mm minimum depth) and is fixed with two visible screws at the top and bottom of the faceplate.

The white ABS construction matches standard UK electrical accessories and pairs with white-painted walls or light-toned interiors. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations away from moisture. The 9mm projection from the wall once fitted is minimal enough to sit flush with most skirting board depths when installed at floor level for equipment connections.

Frequently Asked

What back box depth is required?

A standard UK 2-gang back box with a minimum 25mm depth is needed. The faceplate fixes to the box with two screws visible on the front of the plate.

How many cables can pass through?

The brush strips accommodate multiple cables depending on their diameter. A typical floating TV setup might route 2-3 HDMI cables, a mains cable and an aerial cable through a single brush channel, with the bristles closing around them to conceal the aperture.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations. Brush faceplates are not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any location where moisture is present.

Are the brush strips removable for threading cables?

The brush strips are fixed into the faceplate. Cables are threaded through the bristles by pushing them through from one side — the bristles part to allow the cable to pass and then close back around it.
