Description
This triple photo frame in satin silver aluminium tells a baby's story across three hinged panels, from the first scan to the first photograph. Each panel holds one picture in a rectangular window, and every window takes a 5 x 3.5in print, so two scan pictures and a newborn photograph sit side by side. Beneath the windows, black printed lettering reads Baby's 1st Scan, Baby's 2nd Scan and Here I am, each line set among a scatter of tiny stars. The frame stands 13cm tall and 1cm deep, a slim piece with a soft satin sheen rather than a high shine.
It is a lovely way to mark a birth, and it makes a thoughtful keepsake for a baby's first years, something to treasure long after the scan pictures have been passed around the family. Freestanding, it needs no wall and no fixings: open the panels out to an angle and it stands on a nursery shelf, a chest of drawers, a mantelpiece or a bedside table. The silver sits as happily in a soft pastel nursery as in a grey or white living room, and the three pictures read as one story from left to right, the two scans first and then the baby's own face looking back at you.
Each of the three aluminium panels is joined to the next by a small metal hinge, so you can set the angle that suits your shelf, and each window is a plain rectangle with no mount, so the picture fills the space. To keep the satin silver looking its best, dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it with a cloth that is barely damp and dry it straight away. For gifting, we like to slip the first scan into place before wrapping, leaving the last window ready for the photograph everyone is waiting for.
