Description
The Knightsbridge BT14ACTS is a 14W LED bulkhead with an integrated microwave sensor and adjustable colour temperature, rated IP65 for outdoor and bathroom use. The 315mm diameter white polycarbonate housing contains an SMD LED array behind an opal diffuser, delivering 1130-1260 lumens depending on the CCT setting selected. The colour temperature adjusts between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5700K daylight via a switch on the LED gear tray.
Designed for wall or ceiling mounting on external walls, garage entrances, rear gardens, communal stairwells and bathroom ceilings where sensor control is needed. The microwave sensor detects movement through the polycarbonate housing with adjustable detection range, lux threshold and hold time, allowing the light to switch on only when motion is detected and ambient light falls below the set level. The hinged gear tray and push-fit terminal block allow access to wiring and sensor adjustments without removing the entire fitting from the wall.
The white polycarbonate construction combines impact resistance with UV stability for outdoor installation in exposed positions. The IP65 rating protects the internals against water jets from any direction, making the bulkhead suitable for soffit mounting under eaves, on external walls facing prevailing rain, or in bathrooms as ceiling lighting with sensor control. The Class II double-insulated construction requires no earth connection. The LED array carries a 50,000-hour L70B50 rating and a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
How do I change the colour temperature?
The CCT selector switch is located on the LED gear tray inside the bulkhead. After isolating the power, remove the diffuser by releasing the clips or screws, then slide the switch to choose between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white or 5700K daylight. Reassemble the diffuser and restore power.
How do I adjust the sensor settings?
The microwave sensor has three adjustable controls on the gear tray: detection range (how far the sensor reaches), lux threshold (the ambient light level below which the sensor activates) and hold time (how long the light stays on after detecting movement). Access the controls by removing the diffuser with the power isolated.
Can this be used in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP65 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 1 and 2 (above the bath or shower enclosure) as a ceiling-mounted light with sensor control. Ensure a suitable cable entry gland is used to maintain the IP rating.
What detection range does the microwave sensor offer?
The sensor typically detects movement within a 6-8m radius when set to maximum range, though this is adjustable. Microwave sensors detect through the polycarbonate housing and can sense movement through non-metallic walls, so positioning away from adjacent rooms or paths may be needed to avoid false triggering.
