Description
This 10m CAT5e UTP networking cable provides a wired Ethernet connection between routers, switches, computers, smart TVs, gaming consoles and network-attached storage devices. The cable uses four twisted copper pairs inside a grey PVC jacket, terminated at both ends with RJ45 plugs fitted with moulded strain relief boots to protect the cable from damage at the connector.
CAT5e (Category 5 enhanced) supports data rates up to 1000Mbps (1 gigabit per second) over runs up to 100 metres, making this 10m cable suitable for home networks, small offices and point-to-point connections between devices in the same room or across adjacent rooms. The unshielded twisted pair (UTP) construction reduces crosstalk between the internal wire pairs without requiring additional screening, keeping the cable diameter slim enough to route through standard desk grommets and along skirting boards.
The RJ45 connectors use a standard 8P8C configuration compatible with all Ethernet devices, including 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet) and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) standards. The grey PVC jacket is rated IP20 for dry indoor use and the CCA (copper-clad aluminium) conductor construction balances cost with performance for typical home and office network loads. The cable ships in a 10m length, providing flexibility to route around furniture or between rooms without excess slack.

Frequently Asked
What speeds does CAT5e support?
CAT5e supports up to 100Mbps (Fast Ethernet) as standard and can handle gigabit speeds up to 1000Mbps over cable runs up to 100 metres. This 10m cable length sits well within that range.
Is this cable suitable for PoE devices?
The cable is CAT5e compliant and will carry Power over Ethernet (PoE) for devices like IP cameras and VoIP phones. However, the CCA construction may result in slightly higher resistance than solid copper alternatives, so check device power requirements for high-wattage PoE+ applications.
Can this cable be used outdoors?
No. The IP20 rating and standard PVC jacket are designed for dry indoor use only. Outdoor installations require UV-resistant, weatherproof CAT5e or CAT6 cable rated for external environments.
What is CCA construction?
CCA (copper-clad aluminium) uses aluminium wire cores plated with copper. This reduces cost and weight compared to solid copper, while maintaining adequate performance for typical home and office Ethernet connections at lengths under 100m.
