Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch combines four independent 10-amp rated rocker switches on a single brushed brass flat plate with matching brass rockers. Each gang can control a different lighting circuit from two locations, making the switch suitable for rooms with multiple entrances or zones where independent control of ceiling lights, wall lights, downlights and table lamps is needed from two positions.
Designed for living rooms, open-plan kitchen-diners and master bedrooms where multiple lighting circuits require coordinated control, the switch fits a 16mm minimum back box depth and projects just 2.5mm from the wall once installed. The flat plate design sits flush with the wall surface, with no visible screw fixings or raised bezels. The brushed brass finish shows directional grain texture under light and pairs with warm-toned interiors, traditional schemes and contemporary spaces using brass accents on door furniture or cabinet handles.
The switch is constructed from steel with a brushed brass plated finish, includes a gasket seal behind the faceplate to reduce dust ingress, and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use. The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W per gang on 230V supply, sufficient for multiple high-wattage LED or halogen downlight circuits. Each rocker operates independently, so one gang can be on while others are off, and the 2-way configuration allows the same light to be controlled from a second switch position elsewhere in the room.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way mean?
2-way switching allows the same light to be controlled from two different switch positions. This is useful in rooms with multiple entrances or at the top and bottom of stairs. Each gang on this plate can be wired as 2-way independently, so you can control different circuits from different locations.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed. The ultra-low profile flat plate design allows installation in shallow wall cavities where standard switches would not fit.
What's the difference between 10AX and 10A?
10AX indicates a 10-amp rating suitable for general lighting loads up to 2,300W per gang at 230V. This is the standard rating for UK domestic lighting switches and handles most LED, halogen and incandescent lighting circuits.
Can the flat plate be removed for decorating?
The flat plate is screw-fixed to the back box. It can be removed by loosening the fixing screws, but unlike screwless systems there is no separate clip-on faceplate. The fixing screws are concealed by the rockers when in the 'off' position.
