Description
The Knightsbridge SN2000K is a 10AX 1-gang single-pole 2-way key switch with a white square-edge faceplate made from thermoset resin. The key-operated mechanism restricts circuit switching to authorised personnel only, preventing casual on/off operation of connected lighting or equipment. The switch carries a 10AX rating at 230V 50Hz, handling resistive loads up to 2,300W.
Designed for commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, public access areas and retail where circuit control needs to be restricted, the key switch prevents unauthorised switching of stairwell lighting, server room power, display lighting or security equipment. The 2-way switching function allows the circuit to be controlled from two different key switch locations when paired with a second unit. The single-pole configuration switches the live conductor only.
The 9mm square-edge plate sits flush with the wall and is constructed from thermoset resin with an anti-microbial additive that reduces bacterial growth on the surface. The white finish blends with standard commercial wall finishes and the IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor use. The switch fits a 16mm minimum back box depth and comes supplied with one key. The recessed depth of 11.3mm means the internal mechanism sits below the surface level of the faceplate.

Frequently Asked
What is the difference between single-pole and double-pole key switches?
Single-pole switches control the live conductor only, suitable for most lighting and low-risk equipment. Double-pole switches control both live and neutral, providing full isolation and required for higher-risk circuits or compliance with certain regulations.
Can this be used in a 2-way switching configuration?
Yes. The 2-way function allows the circuit to be controlled from two separate key switch locations when wired with a second 2-way key switch. Both switches must be key-operated to maintain access control.
Is a spare key available?
One key is supplied with the switch. Additional or replacement keys may be available from Knightsbridge directly, as key patterns are typically standardised within product ranges for master keying in commercial installations.
What does the anti-microbial finish do?
The anti-microbial additive in the thermoset resin reduces bacterial growth on the faceplate surface. This is particularly useful in healthcare, food preparation areas and high-traffic public buildings where hygiene standards are critical.
