Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 1-gang intermediate toggle switch provides the midpoint control in a three-switch lighting circuit, fitted behind a brushed brass flat plate with a matching metal toggle. The plate sits 2.5mm from the wall surface, giving an ultra-flat profile that works in period properties, contemporary interiors and commercial settings where visible hardware needs to sit flush.

Intermediate switches connect between two 2-way switches to create three-point control over the same light circuit, typically on staircases with upper, middle and lower switching positions, or extended hallways and landings. The 10AX rating handles up to 2,300W of resistive load on 230V, covering standard domestic lighting circuits including multiple LED downlights, chandeliers and track lighting systems.

The brushed brass finish is applied to premium-grade steel and shows visible directional brushing that softens light reflections and hides minor surface marks over time. The toggle actuator moves through a satisfying mechanical action with a defined on/off throw, and the switch includes an internal gasket to improve moisture resistance beyond the base IP20 rating. The 16mm minimum mounting box depth accommodates most standard UK back boxes without requiring deeper recessing.
