Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 1-gang 2-way toggle switch combines a brushed brass flat plate with a matching metal toggle lever set in a recessed aperture. The flat plate construction measures 87.5mm square with a 2.5mm projection from the wall, giving an ultra-low profile that sits nearly flush with the plaster or wall finish. The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W on 230V mains.

Designed for 2-way lighting control, the switch allows a single lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate locations — typically at either end of a hallway, at the top and bottom of stairs, or at multiple entry points into a large room. The toggle operates on a rocker mechanism with a positive on/off action and tactile click. A built-in gasket around the back of the plate seals the edge against the wall surface, preventing plaster dust ingress and giving a clean finish after installation.

The brushed brass finish is applied to premium-grade steel and shows a linear grain pattern that diffuses reflections and resists fingerprints better than polished brass. The finish develops a subtle patina over time, particularly in high-use locations. A 2-way switch allows the same lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate wall switches — for example at either end of a hallway or at the top and bottom of stairs. To wire 2-way control you need two 2-way switches on the same circuit.

What back box depth is required?

The switch requires a 16mm minimum depth back box. The ultra-flat plate design keeps total wall projection to 2.5mm, making it suitable for installations where a low profile is needed.

What load can a 10AX switch handle?

10AX rated at 230V can switch up to 2,300W of resistive load — sufficient for most domestic lighting circuits including multi-bulb chandeliers and LED driver banks. The rating applies to resistive loads; inductive loads may require derating.

Will the brushed brass tarnish?
