Description
The Knightsbridge 10A fan isolator module is a triple-pole switching device designed to isolate extractor fans, providing a lockable local isolation point for bathroom and kitchen ventilation systems. The module features a key-operated rocker switch marked with 'OFF 0' and 'ON I' positions, allowing the fan circuit to be switched off and locked in the off position during maintenance or servicing.
Built for Knightsbridge's grid system, the module clips into a separate mounting frame from the front without requiring tools, allowing it to be installed alongside other grid modules such as sockets, light switches and data ports in a single multi-gang assembly. The 10A rating handles typical domestic extractor fan loads, and the triple-pole switching isolates live, neutral and the switched live line simultaneously when turned off. The module fits a 25mm minimum mounting box depth and projects 7mm from the frame once clipped in.
The polished chrome finish provides a high-sheen reflective surface that pairs with polished chrome socket and switch ranges in bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. The ABS and steel construction carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor environments and a 25-year warranty. The key mechanism prevents accidental or unauthorised switching of the fan circuit, which is particularly useful in rental properties, care homes or commercial washrooms where fan operation needs to remain under controlled access.

Frequently Asked
Does this require a separate mounting frame?
Yes. The module clips into a Knightsbridge grid mounting frame, which is sold separately and screws to the back box. The frame can hold one, two, three or four grid modules depending on the frame size chosen.
What does triple-pole switching mean?
Triple-pole switching isolates three separate conductors simultaneously when the switch is turned off: live, neutral and the switched live feed to the fan. This provides complete isolation of the fan circuit, which is safer than single-pole switching when servicing the fan.
Is the key removable when the switch is in the on position?
Key operation varies by model. Typically the key can only be removed in the off position, preventing the switch from being turned on without the key present. Check the datasheet or contact us to confirm the key operation for this specific model.
What other finishes are available in the Knightsbridge grid range?
Knightsbridge produces grid modules in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
