Description
The Knightsbridge 1-gang modular faceplate is a single-aperture mounting plate designed to accept euro module inserts for TV, data, HDMI, USB, telephone and other AV or network connections. The plate is finished in pearl—a soft, neutral metallic tone similar to brushed stainless but warmer—and features a screwless cover that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings once installed.
Designed for media walls, office desks, kitchen worktops and home theatre installations, the faceplate allows you to build a custom connection panel by choosing the specific modules you need rather than buying a fixed pre-configured outlet. The 87.5mm square footprint fits standard UK single-gang back boxes, and the 12mm total depth including the 2.5mm cover plate keeps the wall projection minimal. The built-in gasket between the cover and sub-frame improves fit and reduces the ingress of dust into the back box.
The plate is constructed from 201 stainless steel rather than plastic, giving it resistance to impact and wear in high-traffic areas like commercial offices and reception desks. The pearl finish sits visually between polished chrome and brushed steel, offering a softer reflection that pairs well with both warm and cool interior tones. The earth terminal built into the back of the faceplate provides a protective earth connection for metal-bodied modules. Knightsbridge backs the faceplate with a 25-year guarantee.

Frequently Asked
What modules fit this faceplate?
The faceplate accepts standard euro module inserts from Knightsbridge and compatible brands, including HDMI, RJ45 data, TV coaxial, USB-A, USB-C, telephone and blank modules. Modules are sold separately and clip into the aperture from the front once the cover plate is removed.
What back box is required?
A standard UK single-gang 25mm or 35mm back box is required. The 12mm total depth of the faceplate including the cover plate fits comfortably into either depth without crowding the module connections behind.
Is the screwless cover removable?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is screwed to the back box. The cover can be removed to change or add modules, or for redecorating, and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or back box fixings.
What's the difference between pearl and brushed stainless finishes?
Pearl has a warmer, softer metallic tone than brushed stainless, sitting somewhere between polished chrome and satin steel. It reflects less light than polished finishes and pairs well with warmer neutrals, off-whites and natural wood tones.
