The Knightsbridge 1-gang grid faceplate is an 87.5mm square polished chrome cover plate designed for the Flat Plate modular grid system. The faceplate accepts one grid module (sold separately as GDF001F) and presents a clean front surface with just 3.5mm projection from the wall once installed. The premium-grade steel construction carries a polished chrome finish that coordinates with the wider Flat Plate switches and sockets range.

Grid faceplates allow custom switch and socket configurations to be built from individual modules — a dimmer module, a data port module, and a socket module can all sit behind a single larger faceplate rather than requiring three separate units. This 1-gang faceplate accommodates one module, suited to locations where a single control or outlet is needed but the option to upgrade to multi-module configurations later is wanted. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor locations including living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and offices.

The polished chrome finish provides a high-gloss reflective surface that pairs well with contemporary, minimalist and industrial interiors. The 87.5mm footprint fits a standard 25mm back box, and the ultra-flat 3.5mm projection reduces the visual bulk compared to traditional switch plates. The faceplate is sold as a cover only — the GDF001F grid sub-frame and the required switch or socket modules must be purchased separately to complete the installation.

This faceplate requires the GDF001F grid sub-frame (sold separately) and one grid module such as a switch, dimmer or socket module. The faceplate, sub-frame and module are all purchased separately and assembled on-site.

Can this be used with standard switches or sockets?

No. This faceplate is compatible only with the Knightsbridge Flat Plate grid system modules. It cannot be used with standard screw-fixed or screwless switches and sockets.

What back box depth is required?

A standard 25mm minimum back box depth is needed to accommodate the grid sub-frame and module behind the faceplate.
