Description

The Knightsbridge 1-gang brush cable entry faceplate provides a 86x86mm aperture filled with nylon bristles, designed to route AV cables, HDMI leads and power cables through walls whilst maintaining a finished appearance. The brush mechanism allows cables to pass through the bristles in any direction, then closes around them to conceal the wall aperture and prevent dust ingress.

Commonly used in wall-mounted TV installations where cables need to run from a media unit or floor-level socket up to the TV position, the faceplate fits a standard single-gang 25mm back box and presents a flush white surround once fitted. The bristles are dense enough to support multiple cable runs simultaneously — typical installations route two HDMI cables, one aerial cable and one power cable through a single faceplate without visible gaps.

The white ABS construction provides a neutral finish that blends with most wall colours and matches standard white electrical accessories. The 9mm projection from the wall once fitted keeps the faceplate low-profile, and the IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments including living rooms, bedrooms and office spaces. The assembled unit includes the faceplate, brush insert and fixing screws for direct mounting to a back box.

Frequently Asked

What back box is needed?

The faceplate fits a standard single-gang 25mm minimum depth back box, the same as a standard light switch or socket. The back box should be positioned in the wall cavity at the point where cables will enter or exit.

How many cables can pass through the brush opening?

The 86x86mm aperture filled with bristles typically accommodates 4-6 cables depending on their diameter. A common wall-mounted TV installation routes two HDMI cables, one aerial cable and one mains cable through a single faceplate without difficulty.

Does the brush seal around the cables?

The nylon bristles close around cables to conceal the wall aperture and reduce dust ingress, but the seal is not airtight. The IP20 rating indicates the faceplate is suitable for dry indoor locations only, not for outdoor use or damp environments.

Can cables be added or removed after installation?

Yes. The brush mechanism allows cables to be pushed through or pulled back at any time without removing the faceplate from the wall, making it straightforward to add additional cables or replace existing ones as AV setups change.
