Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m ES Vintage Pendant Set is a pre-wired ceiling pendant with a smoked bronze finish across both the 51.5mm diameter ceiling rose and the E27 lampholder. The lampholder carries knurled detailing on two bands above and below the bulb socket, matching the industrial styling common to factory-inspired interiors. The pendant is pre-wired with black fabric-covered flex connecting the ceiling rose to the lampholder.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands, dining tables, bar areas and bedside positions, the 1.8m drop can be shortened during fitting by looping excess cable inside the ceiling rose cavity. The E27 socket accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W, including filament-style LED bulbs that complement the vintage aesthetic. The pendant is rated Class II double-insulated, meaning it does not require an earth connection to the ceiling circuit, though an earth terminal is provided on the ceiling rose for compatibility with earthed lighting circuits.

The smoked bronze finish is a semi-transparent dark coating over steel, giving a warmer tone than matt black while retaining the depth of a dark metal. The 51.5mm ceiling rose is compact enough for standard UK ceiling boxes and the knurled bands on the lampholder add tactile detail when fitting or changing bulbs. The pendant is compatible with lampshades featuring a 42mm internal ring diameter, allowing the industrial metalwork to be paired with fabric or metal shades where softer diffusion is needed.

The IP20 rating limits the pendant to dry indoor locations — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. The BS EN 60598 certification confirms compliance with UK electrical safety standards for household luminaires.

Does the pendant come with a bulb?

No. The E27 socket accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a filament-style LED bulb in warm white (2700K) to match the vintage aesthetic.

Can the 1.8m drop be shortened?

Yes. The cable can be looped inside the ceiling rose during installation to reduce the visible drop. The excess cable is concealed within the ceiling rose cavity, allowing the pendant to hang at the height needed for the specific room and application.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb you choose. The pendant itself is compatible with dimmable bulbs, but you must use a dimmable LED or filament bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit.

Can a lampshade be added?

Yes. The lampholder accepts lampshades with a 42mm internal ring diameter. The shade clips or screws onto the lampholder above the bulb, allowing you to soften the light output or change the aesthetic from industrial to traditional or mid-century.
