Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m ES vintage pendant set is a pre-wired ceiling pendant kit consisting of a dark grey anthracite finish metal ceiling rose, a black braided textile cable and an E27 lampholder with knurled grip rings. The lampholder is rated T2 for a maximum 60W bulb load and accepts any standard E27 screw-fit LED, halogen or filament bulb (sold separately).

Designed for use with fabric or metal lampshades that have a 42mm internal ring diameter fitting, the pendant suits kitchens, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms where a single bare bulb or shaded pendant is needed. The 1.8m drop works in rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, allowing the pendant to be set 1.4-1.6m above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table surface. The cable can be shortened during installation if a lower drop is required.

The anthracite finish on the ceiling rose and lampholder is a dark grey powder coat over premium grade steel, giving a matte surface that pairs with industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors. The lampholder features textured knurled grip rings on the upper and lower sections, which is a detail found on vintage industrial pendant fittings. The ceiling rose base covers a standard UK ceiling outlet and includes an earth terminal for safe connection to mains wiring. Class II construction and IP20 rating make this suitable for dry interior use only.

Does this come with a lampshade or bulb?

No. The pendant set includes the ceiling rose, cable and lampholder only. Bulbs and lampshades are sold separately. The lampholder accepts lampshades with a 42mm internal ring diameter fitting.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 1.8m cable can be shortened during installation by cutting it to the required length and re-wiring into the ceiling rose. This allows the pendant to be set at a lower drop for rooms with lower ceilings or where a shorter suspension is preferred.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb you fit. If you use a dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulb, the pendant will dim when connected to a compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

What does T2 rating mean?

T2 is a thermal rating indicating the maximum safe operating temperature of the lampholder when loaded with up to 60W. It confirms the lampholder can handle standard incandescent, halogen and LED bulbs within this wattage without overheating.
